How quiet is quiet enough?
Bedroom purifiers should be comfortable on the lowest setting while you fall asleep. Mid-20s dB is a useful yardstick — closer to a soft whisper than a desk fan. Spec sheets sometimes quote the quietest mode only, so read recent buyer comments about night-time use on Amazon.co.uk.
Auto modes can spike if the sensor sits near an open door or a busy landing. For light sleepers, a manual low or sleep setting you control is often calmer than aggressive auto.
Size the room, not the marketing
